Prioritising Daily Inspiration & Education

Jennifer Barham-FloreaniYou often hear me talk about the importance of reading personal development books or listening to inspiring speakers or authors. This is something I was taught at a very young age by my parents…

…And I know that when I commit to taking a small amount of time each day to listen to this type of material, or read books with similar themes, I feel razor sharp with my vision and energy. I delight in seeing how the universe is supporting and guiding me, and somehow my day unfolds gracefully and with synergy. I even find it easier to stay positive and calm when I am faced with challenges or set-backs. Life just flows.

When I don’t make it a priority to invest in my mental health, then it’s a whole different story. I feel like I don’t have enough time in the day, I worry more, curse more, chase my tail and stress out about little things. Then I take pleasure in beating myself up, trying to “make things happen”. It’s neither pleasant nor pretty.

So often I have observed this pattern of feeling peaceful when I fill my mind with good thoughts, versus anxious when I don’t. So I make it a priority to listen to personal developmental now as a daily ritual. I have an array of dynamic speakers downloaded onto my iPad to listen to when I exercise, and each day I aim to read — even for a brief period of time — from a collection of inspiring authors.

There is so much to learn in life, so much to see and do that simple rituals such as these help me to summon my will and explore all possibilities freely.

One of my favourite resources is audible.com

Two of my favourite authors are Dr John Demartini and Marianne Williamson. I have also recently downloaded The Law of Divine Compensation: On Work, Money and Miracles (Marianne Williamson), The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs (Carmine Gallo) and 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth (John C Maxwell).

I also frequently listen to Hay House Radio (see hayhouseradio.com), which has interviews and segments with many of my favourite authors and speakers. If you haven’t accessed this resource then check it out – you’ll love it! I’m very excited that a friend of mine, Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, has just been told that he now has his own weekly radio show on Hay House Radio, with a segment called Self-Healing with Dr. Fab!

Fabrizio is a Chiropractor, Self-Healing Expert, Best-selling Author, TV and Radio Personality. Not only do I love to listen to Fab’s spanish accent (trust me it’s beautiful), I believe that Fabrizio’s vision and energy is infectious. His first four topics include Healing From the Inside Out, Raising Healthy Children in a sick world: What every parent must know, Hormones: The Chemistry of Love, and The Recipe for a Healthy Heart.

If you’re interested in learning more about Fab and the amazing people he interviews then go to drfabnews.com — they will send you an app from Hay House and the details of the show.

Personal development has made me who I am today as a woman, mother, author, practitioner. I believe it is at the core of a fulfilling life.

Invest in your mind, for it invests in your life.

Hugs, Jennifer.
